Empowering the next generation of young women in Cambridge

Following the success of our first Young Women’s Conference in November 2024, Turtle Dove Cambridge held the Young Women’s Conference: Getting Young Women into the Workplace and Business in January 2026, themed ‘Anything is Possible’.

This inspiring event brought together young women aged 14-24 who were exploring their future careers, alongside female business leaders, entrepreneurs and professionals from across Cambridge and beyond. Designed to build confidence and open doors, the conference showcased opportunities for young women to enter the workplace and thrive.

At Turtle Dove Cambridge, we are dedicated to bridging the gap for young women who face barriers such as trauma, early pregnancy, neurodiversity, domestic violence, homelessness or a lack of experience and confidence – factors that can lead to unemployment or disengagement from education and training. These young women represent an untapped, resilient workforce, full of creativity and potential.

We believe that local businesses, organisations and entrepreneurs play a vital role in creating real pathways to success. The conference provides a platform for collaboration, mentorship and meaningful partnerships, driving long-term social impact and promoting inclusive education, training and employment.

Our conferences feature:

  • Keynote speakers and panels: Inspiring women share their real-life journeys, highlighting challenges overcome and careers built. Discussions focus on gender equality, leadership, personal development, and confidence building.
  • Networking opportunities: Connect with local businesses, community organisations and young women in an inclusive and positive setting.
  • Career and business representation: Employers, entrepreneurs and professionals host interactive stalls, sharing insights about career paths, training and entrepreneurship.
  • Impact: Discover how your organisation can help close the workforce gap by offering employment opportunities, mentorship or work experience placements for young women.
